Hello all! My name is Samantha Juarez-Castillo and I am one of your school counselors at Sunnymead Elementary! This year I will be servicing the 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students.

A little bit about me, I am a MVUSD graduate myself and a Sunnymead Elementary Alumni! I have been working with students for a little over 10 years when I started during my undergraduate years at UC Riverside working with high school students. I have worked for MVUSD for 7 years, I started off as a secretary after I finished up my undergraduate degree at UC Riverside. I then decided to go back to school and knew I wanted to continue working with students, so I got my Master’s Degree and PPS credential in Educational School Counseling in 2020. It is amazing to be back at the site where it all started for me to now be able to help students start their educational journeys!
I have been married for 3 years and we have 2 wonderful children! I love my family and we love to do things together! Our favorite activity to do together is go to Disneyland! We go as often as we can and try to go for every holiday season!
Counselor Marin and I are here to help provide support to all students and enhance their academic and social/emotional growth. I am excited to work with the students, parents, and staff here at Sunnymead Elementary. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have regarding your student(s) and their social/emotional and academic well-being.
The goal of the counseling program is to ensure all students develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills that will lead to behaviors that support academic achievement and social-emotional well-being. These services include:

- Short Term Individual Counseling (short Term)
- Group Counseling (Short term)
- Counselor/teacher collaboration/consultation
- Crisis Intervention

Un poco sobre mí, ¡yo me gradué de MVUSD y ex alumna de la escuela primaria Sunnymead Elementary! He estado trabajando con estudiantes durante un poco más de 10 años cuando comencé durante mis años de estudio de licenciatura en UC Riverside trabajando con estudiantes de secundaria. He trabajado para MVUSD durante 7 años, comencé como secretaria después de terminar mi licenciatura en UC Riverside. Entonces decidí volver a la escuela y supe que quería seguir trabajando con los estudiantes, así que obtuve mi maestría y mi credencial de PPS en Consejería Educativa Escolar en el 2020. ¡Es increíble estar de vuelta en el sitio donde todo comenzó para mí y ahora poder ayudar a los estudiantes a comenzar sus carreras educativas!
¡He estado casada por 3 años y tenemos 2 hijos maravillosos! ¡Amo a mi familia y nos encanta hacer cosas juntos! ¡Nuestra actividad favorita juntos es ir a Disneyland! ¡Vamos todas las veces que podemos y tratamos de ir en cada temporada de vacaciones!

Hello! My name is Jasmin Marin and I am one of your school counselors at Sunnymead Elementary! This year I will be servicing TK/ Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grade.
I am an MVUSD graduate from Moreno Valley High School. After I graduated, I attended UC Berkeley, where I
received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. I have been working with students for six years. I began as a substitute teacher with MVUSD and after receiving my Master’s and PPS Credential from the University of Redlands, I am now in my first year as a School Counselor.
A little about me, I come from a huge family, and I value spending time with them and my closest friends. I love being a School Counselor, enjoy being out in nature, trying new foods/ restaurants, and traveling the world.
